I try my best to eat the freshest of fruits and vegetables by the seasons, as these are when they are less GMO, best fresh, and they taste better too!
But with how agriculture is in modern life, it is hard to know what is in season, because everything seems to be in season all year round, thanks to GMO and unhealthy farming methods!
And at the moment, it is Spring in Australia, and so the freshest of fruits and veggies are in abundance.
I cannot stress to you enough the benefits of having your own vegetable patch, and a good book on them for reference. You can plant your own foods, knowing what you have used to grow them, and they are fresh when they are fresh. No GMO, no bullshit. Just healthy fruits and vegetables! Need I say more about that?
But sometimes this just isn’t possible, with small living spaces or shared living as well. Which is perfectly alright! It all comes down to how you shop and what you shop for!
Go for farmer’s markets, go for organic for the dirty dozen!
