It’s time for the monthly box review, and this month’s choice of boxing is the Retreat Yourself Box. Before we review, I’d like to point out that this is in no way affiliated. On my own health journey, I purchase these boxes to enrich my own healthy lifestyle and love to share them with you so you can do the same!
The November Retreat Yourself Subscription Box Review
Now, I’ve got a list of boxes to review each month, as I’m a bit of a health research fanatic and trying to find some good products for myself and my family to use instead of the GMO riddled, and animal-cruel body products everywhere these days. So, upon finding a bunch of boxes to subscribe to, I found the seasonal Retreat Yourself Box.
The Retreat Yourself Box is run by Kate, an Aussie who just like me, was trying to start up a coaching business online, and found a better way – by creating Retreat Yourself – to enrich people’s lives quickly. She bases the box on a little ‘retreat’, and an easy option to prioritize your health and living. She also has a great 7 Day Wellness Challenge for free on the Retreat Yourself website which I’ve tried myself, and the simple tips are fantastic!
So, the box is seasonal, meaning quarterly with the seasons, and each box will come with over $200 worth of health and body product samples, for only $50AUD plus shipping, on subscription. A single box will take you for $60AUD, which is still a bloody good price!
So without further ado, let’s open up the box!
Now, I don’t know what to say, except I got a bag?! I did not expect a bag at all in the box, but it has come in handy since I’ve opened up this goodie box! There is a great range of products in the box, ranging from soaps to body mist, to tonics, and salad toppers! Let’s check out each product..
Now I’ve never been one to have nuts and seeds in my salads, I’m a bit of a basic eater, but after this one, I’m changing my game! You only need 2 tablespoons of this stuff in your salad and it adds a nice peppery yet sweet taste with some crunch! It’s Paleo friendly and super good for the gut!
These beauties are organic AND raw! And there is such a huge range on the website. I was a bit hesitant with the salted caramel, when I read ‘mesquite’ – 1. I have no idea what that is, 2. It sounds like mosquito. Turns out it’s a type of tree! Yum! haha. Actually, it wasn’t too bad. It sorta hits the nail on the head with salted caramel, in a natural eat-off-the-ground-kinda-way. The Gut Loving one I was excited for due to lemon, and coconut! How can you go wrong?! You can. I could only taste nuts and some type of herb. I only ate a crumb off this bar. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to try these again (sad face).
I’m starting to really fall in love with body mists now – this is my 2nd one to try out of the box reviews! I’m not a major fan of rose, but this one is nice. Not too overpowering, and definitely refreshing on the skin! It also came with it’s own little bag. I’ve chucked it in my bag for the hot summer days when I need a bit of a lift in my spirits, or something to keep my skin from drying out with the heat! Btw, they have other body mists ranges and loads of natural perfumes and oils on their website. Worth the look!
Sukha Herbs Rejuvenate Tonic – ?
Now, I didn’t get to try this tonic out due to some health conflictions unfortunately, and the Health Naturally shop isn’t available at the moment to find out prices etc, but on the bottle, it states it is good for the nervous system and adrenals. You take 5ml, 1-3 times a day diluted. Sorry I can’t tell you much else! If you have tried this product, or know about it, shoot me a comment below and I’ll add your review up here! 🙂
I’ve tried out these guys before, with their Choc Cranberry cookies, and there were amazing!! Seriously, I think I ate about 5 while they were still hot out of the oven, and they didn’t last long at all in our house. So i was stoked to try out their protein balls to see if they are just as good. One thing I do love about these packaged items, is how easy they are to make! All you need to add is coconut oil and rice malt syrup! You can find my review on these beauties (and the finished product), on my instagram!
Here’s a tea detox for weight loss, meant to help with improving metabolism, and getting rid of all the bad junk in your body! I couldn’t try (once again) for health conflictions (don’t worry, I’ll be telling you about it in a few weeks!), but from what I’ve read on their facebook page, this tea has a great taste and really refreshing, which I’m sure would be a relief with some of the detox herbal tea blends you can get out there! And btw, if you subscribe to their newsletter, you get 20% off your purchase! Go get em!
I’ve never seen an easier way to grow your own herbs! This bag is literally all you need, you add some water with your soil IN THE BAG, and let it grow IN THE BAG. Need I say more? If you’d like to see me create this beauty, check it out on my instagram!
ANOTHER I can’t try, but not like I really wanted to. The smell of this drink is powerful! I’m talking, twinging your nose hairs with one inhale, but lucky Mister B is game to try anything (with his little hot sauce phase he is going through atm, I don’t think this worried him whatsoever). BUT, he didn’t like it! It was way too sour (as it has Sour cherry juice in it), and is just plain “wierd’. But the science behind it isn’t so! Each 350ml bottle contains 2 serves of the stuff (they don’t recommend going over 1 serve a day!), and it is meant to help relax any feelings of anxiety. This is the first drinkable product I’ve found that does this! Ok scratch that, after reading their website, apparently green tea is what helps with this! Interesting!! It is 100% natural, preserved naturally and no added sugar! I guess if you can get past the sour, and suffer from anxiety, it’s worth the try to see how it works for you!
A lip balm that makes you happy! Whatt! It smells great and is very smooth, adds a nice sheen on your lips and covers it well too. This balm would be great for windy days to protect your lips!
And if you’re interested, they have a ton of other products on their website including clay masks, candles, and other blends of lip balms too, all really well priced for what you get!
And that’s all for the review!
I hope you enjoyed it, definitely let me know what you think in the comments below, and any great products you’ve found recently!! I love to hear what you have to say.
